Arm Wrestling

Purpose of the Project: To make a game where the winner in arm wrestling wins points and appears on the scratch screen with the floor we made with aluminum foil in the arm wrestling game. We will use our pinoo minoo board for this.

Duration: 2 lessons

Pinoo Set: PinooMinoo Interactive Coding and Design Set

Age Group: 7 years and above

Achievements:

  • Learn to code pinoo minoo board.

  • Develops algorithmic skills.

  • Coding skills develop.

Materials to be Used: Scratch 2 program, Pinoo Minoo board, alligator cables, connection cable.

Materials Needed for Design: Aluminum foil, scissors, orange cardboard, glue gun and silicone.

Project Construction:

For our project, we first take our orange cardboard in our hands.

We divide our cardboard into two equal square pieces.

We cover our cardboard with aluminum foil.

We write the numbers 1 and 2 on our aluminum foil papers. In Pinoo minoo, we connect our cardboard number 1 to the down arrow and the cardboard number 2 to the up arrow with crocodile cables. We make 1 connection to the ground part. We must ensure that any of the 2 players contact the crocodile cable connected to the ground part.

Coding part:

First we delete our cat puppet.

Then we select a background by clicking on the select the puppet from the library button and add it. Then, we add the puppets that will represent 2 players with the select from the library button.

We create 2 variables in Data&Block named Player 1 and Player 2.

Then we change the names of our puppets from the i(info) section on the top left of the puppets.

We start our coding from our 1st player puppet. Our game will start when the green flag is clicked. We are adding codes that will make our player points 0 at the beginning.

To add a new sound from the Sounds tab, we click on the select sound from library button.

In the window that comes up, we select a sound from the sound library and click the OK button.

We continue to code our 1st player puppet. We add the glide or go to point code from the movement menu after placing the dummy so that it goes to the starting place every time the green flag is clicked. Then, if the up arrow key is pressed, that is, when Player 1 wins the game in arm wrestling, the score of Player 1 will increase by 1 and the sound we have added with the play voice code will be played. Then the winning puppet will appear on the middle stage and will return to its place after waiting there for 3 seconds.

Then we write our 2nd Player codes. The first of the 2 differences from the codes of our 1st Player puppet is that we don't have those codes because there is no need to reset our variables when the game starts, and the second is that the coordinates of our filter codes that we added at the beginning are different. In this way, we have completed our codes.

We can start playing our game by clicking the green flag.
