Let's Get to Know Our Body

Project Purpose: To create a human body recognition application using the Pinoo Minoo card.

Duration:  2 lessons

Age group:  7 years and older

Achievements:

  • Learns the use of Pinoo Minoo card.

  • Develops game design skills.

  • Develops algorithmic skills.

  • Coding skills develop.

Materials to be used:  Scratch program, Pinoo Minoo Card, five crocodile cables

Materials Required for Design:  Forex, felt-tip pens, scissors, glue gun, aluminum foil

Project Construction:

On Forex, we cut a rectangular piece measuring 25 x 17 cm and draw a picture of a person with prominent organs on it. If you wish, you can also use a computer printout.

For explanations of brain, lung, gut and heart organs, we draw a circle for each organ one click away from our human model.

We cut the inside of the circles and cover the cavity with aluminum foil. We frame it again with the color representing the organ that the circles represent.

We cut four rectangular pieces from the Forex, two 17x4 cm and two 24x4 cm.

We fix the rectangular parts to the main floor.

We take the pinoo minoo board and attach a cable to the ground part and a crocodile cable to the w, a, s and d parts. Finally, we attach a crocodile cable to the earth part.

  • We turn the back of the floor and every aluminum  We attach the free end of the alligator cable to one end of the foil.

  • aluminum foil on the brain to the w key cable,

  • a to the key cable aluminum foil in the lungs,

  • aluminum foil in the gut to the s key cable,

  • We will attach the aluminum foil in the heart to the d key cable.

We will use the scratch application for the coding part.

In the coding part, we will first design the game. For this, we delete the cat by clicking the right mouse button on the cat puppet. We add our human puppet by clicking the "Choose the puppet from your computer" button. Then, we select the button3 puppet by clicking on the "Choose the puppet from the library" button.

Click on the draw new puppet button. We will create a title for our application by clicking the T button on the right part of the drawing screen. We click on the T button and write "WE KNOW OUR BODY". (We place our human puppet in the middle of the stage with the headline in my lower part.)

We select our button puppet and click on the disguises. Right click on the Button3-a disguise and click on the duplicate option. We do this three times. (We will have four disguises in total.)

We will change the color of each costume and add explanations. We select the button3-a costume and click on the paint bucket on the right and select the yellow color from the color palette at the bottom. Click on the dummy and paint the button yellow.

To write a description on it, click the T button on the right. Our explanation for the color yellow: Brain: It governs our body.

  • ***For explanation, if the size of your button is insufficient, you can enlarge the size by selecting the button and pulling it to the right. Here we worked with a button size of 188*55.

  • We change the color of the other disguises, respectively, and add their explanations.

  • button3-b disguise color pink, description: Lungs: Allows the inhaled air to mix with the blood.

  • button3-b2 disguise color is green, description: Intestines: It breaks the food down and mixes it into the blood.

  • button3-b3 disguise color red, description: Heart: It constantly pumps blood throughout the body.

We move on to the series section. We select the button puppet. When we click on the green flag from the events menu to start the application, we get the code block. In order for the puppet to be hidden at the beginning, we take the hide command from the view menu. We want to see the descriptions of our organs when certain keys of the keyboard are pressed. For this, we get the space key pressed event from the events menu and select the w phrase from the drop-down menu with the help of the tiny arrow. In order for the button puppet to be visible when the key is pressed, we get the command "see" from the view menu.

We get the command to go to x:124 y:13 point from the movement tab so that the button3-a disguise of the puppet can be seen at a certain point. Here, the corresponding numbers x and y may vary for you. Values  We update it to x : 124, y :100.

In order for the desired disguise to appear, we take the switch to button3-b3 disguise code block from the view menu and select the button3-a option by clicking its tiny arrow.

We will assign each skin to a different keyboard key. Let's do all the steps for button3-a disguise as button3-b. We get the space key pressed event from the Events menu and select a from the drop-down menu with the help of the tiny arrow. In order for the puppet to be visible when the key is pressed, we get the command "see" from the view menu. We get the command to go to x:124 y:13 point from the movement tab so that the button3-a disguise of the puppet can be seen at a certain point. Here, the corresponding numbers x and y may vary for you. Values  We update it to x : 118, y :32.

In order for the desired disguise to appear, we take the switch to button3-b3 disguise code block from the view menu and select the button3-b option by clicking its tiny arrow.

  • We place the remaining two masks in the appropriate keyboard key and coordinate.

  • for button3-b1: it will be visible when the s key is pressed, its coordinates are x : 113 y:-41;

  • for button3-b2: it will be visible when the d key is pressed, its coordinates are x : -193 y:32;

  • We click on the green flag, then press the appropriate keys on the keyboard (w, a, s, d) in the comments.  We check if there are any problems.

  • We connect our Pinoo minoo board to the computer with the connection cable. We hold the ground wire in our palms. By touching the aluminum foils that represent the organ on our diagram  We can start using our application.
